You now have your dream divided into three sections. Perhaps you drew lines through your description to make the divisions; that's good. Now it's time to clarify the dream. Get another piece of paper if you need it.

For each section, list all of the dream-facts.

for example:

I was in my old back yard.
In the garden there was a big new tree that surprised me.
...
The purpose here is to get down in detail every significant object, action, place, and line of speech. Everything that you noticed in the dream has meaning; if it had no meaning, it wouldn't be there. Don't rush! This is an important step. The more you pay attention to details, the more you will understand your dream.
