Conrad: Well, you have a choice.
Susan: To speak or not?
Conrad: you can look at it that way; or, equivalently, to get rid of the canker or not.
Susan: What does it mean that I freely admitted what I had done?
Susan: And that no one was terribly shocked?
Conrad: Well, the people are all you. The other parts of yourself.
Susan: So I got rid of the sore, and then decided to undo what I had done.
Conrad: You didn't undo what you'd done, you closed up the hole by doing yourself further violence.
Susan: Yeah, I should have said attempted to undo it.
Conrad: Susan, covering up is not trying to undo it. There's no backswing in this dream.
Susan: Okay, so I'm covering it up rather than trying to right it.
Conrad: And you tell everyone matter-of-factly what you've done.
Susan: I guess I'm not clear on how that factors in.
Conrad: Ok, so to throw around a little Freudian terminology:
Conrad: So the dream is about a successful incident of repression, no?
Susan: So I'm only being honest with myself, since the other people are manifestations of me?
Susan: In that case, yes, that makes sense.
Conrad: The point-of-view part is broadcasting that it is the agent of repression, and it is accepted as such by the others.
Susan: Ah, I see.
Conrad: Want to talk about the Stop&Shop one?
Susan: If you're not tired of draggin me through interpreting, sure, I'd love to.
Conrad: It's fine. I'm actually surprised you've been so good.
Susan: oh, well thanks
Conrad: What is going to (de nada) Stop&Shop about?
Susan: Buying food, gaining nourishment?
Conrad: Excellent.
Conrad: But is this physical nourishment we're talking about, or emotional nourishing?
Susan: By the way, I'm not sure if I mentioned this, but we never made it inside, this was all in the parking lot.
Conrad: That was clear.
Susan: I'd guess emotional nourishment.
Susan: symbolically speaking
Conrad: Good, good. So you're seeking emotional nourishment with--?
Susan: My boyfriend.
Conrad: ok.
Conrad: And what interrupts you on your quest for emotional nourishment?
Susan: Violence? Another woman?
Conrad: Ok, this other woman interrupts you with violence.
Conrad: And what do we know about this other woman?
Susan: She's better equipt than I am?
Conrad: Heh.
Conrad: What's associated with her?
Susan: Overpowering strength?
Conrad: You're interpreting too early.
Conrad: What dream-images are associated with the dream-person?
Susan: A gun?
Conrad: Yes, and?
Susan: The trash can?
Conrad: very good.
Conrad: What does the trash can tell us about her?
Susan: She's trashy?
Conrad: She's garbage. She's worthless.
Susan: Haha, right.
Conrad: Who is she?
Susan: Literally? I have not a clue.
Conrad: Ok, I haven't brought home that point.
Conrad: You ever have a conversation in your head with someone who isn't there?
