Areas of InquiryThis is a featured page

dreamWiki explores these areas of inquiry:

rational inquiry - dreamWiki includes the inquiry into how to go about rationally investigating dreams. The goal is to build a system of principles to understand dreams; we go about building that system rationally; and we look into how we are building it and ask what techniques we can use to that end.

dream interpretation - The core goal of this website: to develop and teach the principles of dream interpretation. We are looking for a detailed account of what we can learn from the specific nuances of the dream. The dream ought to be explicated, not merely summarized.

lucid dreaming - Lucid dreaming is the ability to become awake, lucid, while dreaming. When one becomes aware of the fact one is dreaming while continuing to dream, one can then begin to influence and even control the dream. Better than any video game.

Gestalt dream therapy - The basic idea of Gestalt dream therapy is not to interpret the dream, but to vividly re-imagine and re-negotiate the dream while awake. The Gestalt approach is not interpretive -- understanding what the dream means is not only not the purpose of Gestalt dream therapy, but many Gestaltists would tell you it is an irrelevant or even useless goal. The Gestalt approach is immersive and participatory, and with lucid dreaming gives a dream interpreter a better understanding of the nature of dreams.
